Robotics Club

John Giarrantana, owner and founder of STEM Cell Robotics brings his fun, safe, and interactive robotics program to SELA!

Classes are taught in English.

Minimum of 10 students to run class, maximum of 16 students. Class will be filled on a first come first serve basis.

To Register: Submit the Robotics Club Registration Form, and Contact with any questions at all.

Because this is a new program to SELA, we will be using videos and photos for promotional use. Please review the Media release below:

Media Release: By registering for this Robotics club, I am giving permission for the instructor of this class and SELA to take photos and/or videos of my child to be used for marketing and promotional materials.

Session 1 2019-2020

Coding and Robotics with ROOT

Students will learn coding while experimenting with an advanced teaching robot! The Root robot was developed by researchers at Harvard to create a realtime interactive coding experience that makes learning coding fun for anyone. The workshop introduces students to basic principles of coding, robotics, functions and parameters, event sequencing, debugging, conditional statements, sensors, loops and actuators all while having tons of fun!

Session 2 2019-2020

Electronics and coding with Circuit Playground Express (Adafruit) and Microsoft MakeCode

In this fun hands-on class kids will use the Microsoft MakeCode block programming language to control buttons, lights, speakers and several sensors (temperature, light, sound, and motion) to create exciting interactive projects.

Coding and Robotics with mBot

mBot is a STEAM education robot for beginners, that makes learning robot programming simple and fun! Students will learn the fundamentals of block-based programming, develop their logical thinking and design skills while teaching their robots how to avoid obstacles, dance, and follow lines!
