International Women’s Day
Early Global (Infant – JuniorK): In the last week of February, EGE teachers will request through Tadpoles to email to Paola, the Director of Curriculum at ms.chamarro@suescuela.com, a photograph of the mother(s) of the students or another important woman in the personal life of the child.
During this special day of March 8th, students will begin their normal circle time with the class having time to present their photos one by one, and the whole class will clap in celebration of these special women. Then, we will make a stop between 9:30 – 10:30 am of all EGE showing and parading the photograph of your special woman. JuniorK Students will know be learning about important women every week of March: musicians, painters, inventors, etc.
Elementary School (K-6th Grade): SELA Elementary looks forward to celebrating International Women’s Day this year! We hope that students will enjoy learning about influential women in mathematics, reading, and science as well as noteworthy female figures from Spanish-speaking countries and China in their language classes on this day!
Additionally, each family is welcome to send a photo of an influential woman or women within their child(ren)’s life. These pictures will be featured on our Women’s Day Wall for the entire SELA community to enjoy! If you choose to participate, please send these photos to Ms. Jen at ms.quirk@suescuela.com. Note: please do not send in a physical copy of a picture to avoid any potential misplacement of sentimental items.
