We don't teach Mandarin and Spanish; we teach IN Spanish & Mandarin

3 Months to 4 Years Old 100% Full Spanish Immersion

Our fully immersive language learning environment enables students to interact and engage in their new language just as naturally as they would in their native tongue. This approach helps them master the correct grammar and pronunciation from the very beginning, making their language skills sound authentic.

By introducing both English and Mandarin into the curriculum as students transition into the lower school levels, we are using a proven method that supports fluency in all three languages.

“Learning through Exploration, Playing and Doing”

Learning by exploring, playing, and doing is a highly effective way to teach, especially for young children. We encourage our students to be curious and inspire a love of learning by letting them discover new ideas through hands-on activities. This approach helps them ask questions and investigate the world around them, leading to a deeper understanding of different topics. Play adds fun and creativity, making learning enjoyable and memorable. By putting their knowledge into practice, students strengthen what they’ve learned and gain more confidence.

“Socio-Emotional Wellbeing”

Our early global education programs are designed to gently help students adjust to healthy separation, which is essential for building important self-help skills.

By slowly introducing children to new settings and routines, they learn how to adapt and feel comfortable being apart from their main caregivers. This approach helps them become more independent, solve problems on their own, and manage their emotions better.

In addition, children gain valuable social skills like talking with classmates and teachers, sharing, and working together in group activities. These basic skills are key to their personal development and future achievements both in school and in life.

How We Bring You Closer to Your Child’s Day

At SELA, we understand how important it is for families to feel connected to their child’s daily experiences. That’s why we make it a priority to share photos, insights, and special moments from classroom activities every day. Through these updates, families gain a real-time window into their child’s learning and development.

This ongoing communication keeps parents informed and engaged, allowing you to celebrate milestones, understand your child’s progress, and support their growth at home. By fostering this continual exchange between school and home, we empower you to be an active partner in your child’s educational journey and build lasting confidence in the SELA learning environment.

  • In our Infant Program, children are welcomed each morning with warmth and joy by our dedicated teachers. From the very beginning, students are fully immersed in Spanish, providing a nurturing environment for natural language acquisition. We believe that understanding each child’s unique routine and needs is essential, so we partner closely with parents to ensure a smooth transition into our school routine.
  • Our highly academic curriculum begins at just three months of age. Even our youngest learners are engaged throughout the day, absorbing the sounds and patterns of a second language. Language acquisition at this stage happens organically, supported by our “mother methodology” of gentle repetition, affectionate interactions, and a positive classroom atmosphere. Teachers consistently repeat essential vocabulary, and it is common for first words to emerge in Spanish—words such as “leche” (milk) and “agua” (water). You may notice your child beginning to use Spanish words at home, demonstrating how quickly they begin to transfer language skills.
  • As children grow into toddlers, language becomes an integral part of their daily lives. At this stage, children begin to imitate words and phrases, often “pretending” to read and engaging in early conversations. They start to differentiate when to use Spanish and when to use their home language, especially if their family speaks a different language at home. This early awareness of language context is a key milestone in bilingual development.
  • Social and emotional growth is also emphasized. Toddlers play cooperatively, share with peers, and learn to express their emotions more effectively. Teachers continue to provide academic instruction across all subject areas, utilizing engaging, hands-on activities to introduce early concepts in math, science, music, and art. Our curriculum supports cognitive, physical, and social-emotional milestones, and teachers regularly assess progress to ensure each child is thriving in all areas.
  • In the Toddler classroom, children’s language skills blossom. They can follow multi-step instructions, ask and answer simple questions in Spanish, and even pretend to read in both Spanish and English. Counting, identifying colors and shapes, and engaging in simple problem-solving activities are part of their daily routine.
  • Children at this age are eager to help and take pride in learning classroom routines, such as finding the bathroom independently or participating in clean-up. Social skills expand as they learn to cooperate, share, and build friendships. Teachers continue to integrate academic subjects, ensuring that each child receives a comprehensive education that supports all areas of development.
  • Preschoolers become confident communicators, able to express more complex ideas and ask longer, more thoughtful questions. Their curiosity drives them to explore new concepts in science, math, literacy, and the arts, all taught through our immersive Spanish curriculum. Children demonstrate increased independence and initiative, actively participating in classroom discussions and activities.
  • Teachers, who are responsible for every subject, provide a rich, academic environment that challenges and supports each child’s growth. Milestones in fine motor skills, problem-solving, and social-emotional development are closely monitored, ensuring that every child is prepared for the next stage of learning.
  • In Pre-Kindergarten, students demonstrate advanced language skills in both Spanish and English. They can engage in meaningful conversations, express their thoughts in detail, and ask in-depth questions to further their understanding. Academic subjects become more rigorous, with children exploring early literacy, mathematics, science experiments, and creative arts.
  • Teachers continue to provide instruction across all areas, integrating STEAM concepts and fostering critical thinking skills. Our curriculum ensures that each child meets and exceeds developmental milestones, preparing them for a successful transition to kindergarten and beyond. Social skills, self-regulation, and independence are emphasized, supporting each child’s growth as a confident, capable learner.
