Frequently Asked Questions
No. Our program is thoughtfully designed for English-speaking children. Many join with no prior exposure and learn naturally through immersion.
SELA uses the Famly app for secure and efficient arrival and dismissal. Parents must add all authorized pickups in advance, and arrival and dismissal procedures and locations are communicated to families before the program starts.
Not at all — and please don’t stress about it!
Every child develops at their own pace, and we completely understand that. If your child is not yet potty trained, they will simply be placed in the classroom that best fits where they are developmentally. Our teachers are experienced, patient, and will gently incorporate those skills into the daily routine — setting your child up for success when they are ready to move forward.
We meet every child where they are. That’s the SELA way.
Students have a minimum of 30 minutes of outdoor time daily. During periods of excessive heat or strong sun, activities move indoors to the gym.
Absolutely. Keeping every child safe is a priority we take seriously. SELA is a peanut- and tree-nut-free facility, and our staff are anaphylaxis-certified and trained to respond confidently to allergic reactions. We work closely with families to understand each child's needs and create a welcoming environment where every camper can thrive.
- Comfortable footwear
- Hat for outdoor time
- Packed lunch (with ice packs or thermos as needed)
No. Families are responsible for providing their child's lunch, snacks, and beverages each day. To help maintain a smooth classroom routine and ensure food safety, we are unable to refrigerate or heat food. We recommend packing items in an insulated lunch bag with a thermos or ice pack, as needed.
Yes—fun water-based activities are included, but no special gear is required.
